Colors and Accessories to Add to Your Wardrobe This Fall

Colors and Accessories to Add to Your Wardrobe This Fall

Fall is finally here! *clicks heels* We don’t know about you but we are super excited because with the season changing, comes the wave of all new collections, trends, and themes. Let us be the first to say that although ready-to-wear fashion is not particularly made with families in mind, the runways of the Fall and Winter 2019 shows were filled with tons of inspiration that you will hopefully appreciate in the upcoming Tony by Toni collections. From unique statement accessories and rich color palettes –  read on to find out our take on the top 10 colors and accessories your wardrobe needs this season.

#1 Sage:

First and foremost, earthy tones showed up the most in all of the FW19 fashion shows. Sage fits well with the theme of the season and is an ideal shade to wear as an overcoat or a stylish cashmere sweater. Experiment with this shade by pairing it with darker shades of green such as olive to create a monochromatic look that’s Instaworthy.

#2 Hats:

From berets to bucket hats to fedoras and caps, there were all kinds of hats seen all over the FW19 fashion shows. Head accessories are ideal to keep warm and top off the perfect look at the same time. Christian Dior gave a fancy and formal twist to otherwise casual bucket hats and Valentino came out with a Handmaid’s Tale-esque hat for a bold statement. Here, we give ode to a more universally attainable look that never fails to deliver: the classic fedora.

#3 Boots:

One thing I’d definitely suggest is to ditch the chunky sneakers for platform or strappy boots this fall. Famous designers like Stella McCartney and Rick Owens released high heeled platform boots which were the epitome of all things Spice World. Loewe’s take at this trend was a statement heel and Alexander McQueen was a classy mix of a sneaker and boot. Nonetheless, because platform boots are a lot like those chunky Balenciaga sneakers that no one really wanted to buy we wanted to showcase an edgier option without diving too far into the deep end: pointed toe patent leather.

#4 Turmeric:

Live your best life as a sexy bottle of Heinz mustard (just kidding) in the beautiful, tangy shade of Tumeric! Although this shade of orange became trendy this summer because of its bright and happy vibes, it has continued to appear in FW19 fashion shows this fall. This vibrant shade is a breath of fresh air from all the dark and sullen shades that typically show up for the fall and winter. The best way to wear it is as a jumpsuit or a woolen sweater.

#5 Belts:

Seen on the runways of Christian Dior, Altuzarra, and Givenchy, it’s obvious that any outfit is instantly classier and sleeker when it’s cinched at the waist, whether it’s a power suit or a skirt. All you need to do is get yourself a few wide leather belts to instantly look trendier no matter what.

#6 Bows:

We’ll be honest, bows have to be really unique for them to not appear too…Teen Vogue. They’re more times than not a true hit or miss because sometimes you absolutely love them and others you can’t stand the sight of them. Still and yet, the dark and gloomy themes of the fall season are cleverly contradicted by the uplifting accessory of bows. Oversized, imperfectly placed, and sassy they were!    Fall/Winter 2019 fashion show runways were ridden with bowed accessories from Chanel, Versace, Erdem, Rodarte, Fendi, Richard Quinn and other high end designers. Whether it’s a bow or a dress or a pair of shoes that need some extra points, add a bow to instantly dress it up! It’s ok, we understand the picture below is only for aesthetics – not something everyone will love.

#7 Galaxy Blue:

Midnight Blue, or “Galaxy Blue” as Pantone likes to call it, was a hit this fall. High end designers like Salvatore Ferragamo, Christian Siriano, and Sies Marjan experimented with this deep, hypnotizing shade in form of statement dresses, sleepwear, and power suits at their Fall/Winter 2019 fashion shows and made galaxy blue the most sought after color this season.

#8 Statement Purses:

There was a whole new meaning given to the word “statement” this fall when Moschino released a Judith Leiber-esque bag designed to look like a slot machine. Seen in the Chanel, Christopher Kane, and Lanvin FW19 fashion shows, it’s clear that no matter how dull your outfit is, a statement purse will always give it instant points and make it top notch.

#9 Fashion Hair Pins:

Ahh, the 90’s are upon us in a re-invented way! Who remembers the bendy clips you snapped into your bangs and color-coordinated with your scrunchie socks? As you’ve probably seen all over Instagram, hair barrettes are the, and we quote “fresh new hair accessory trend” that’s now on every NYC fashion girl. They’re cool but they’ve always been cool. These look great in gold, pearl, rhinestone, and gun metal tones. Just place these long clips on the sides of your hair or back of your high bun and its traffic stopping time. Rock the ones with words on them for a bolder statement – nice words only though please!

#10 Sugar Almond:

It’s true that in the chilly season of fall, we’re looking for some warm colors to make us look and feel fabulous while staying in style. Introducing the perfect blend of Cognac and Cointreau is Pantone’s sugar almond which showed up on the runways of Roksanda, Lanvin, and A.W.A.K.E. in the form of frilly statement dresses, pantsuits, and leather trench coats.

From slot machine purses to platform boots, there’s no fashion statement your favorite designers didn’t experiment with this fall. Fear not, you can follow these unique trends with Tony by Toni and incorporate these accessories and colors in your everyday style for a fashion forward look all through fall.
